Ward's travel and arrangements for the Columbian Exposition exhibit and his impressions of the fair and the city of Chicago, including descriptions of the architecture, the Transportation Building, and the "Street in Cairo" exhibit. The file folder labeled "Biographical Information" includes the book seller's description of the letters and a photocopy of the William Ward entry from the 1900 edition of the Biographical History of New Jersey.

William Rankin Ward was a professional horticulturalist, a founding member of the New Jersey Horticultural Society, and a longtime member and officer of the State Board of Agriculture. In 1892 he was appointed to manage New Jersey's horticultural exhibition at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

This collection contains twelve letters describing William R. Ward's travel and arrangements for the Columbian Exposition exhibit and his impressions of the fair and the city of Chicago, including descriptions of the architecture, the Transportation Building, and the "Street in Cairo" exhibit.
