Founded during the DePaul Centennial (1998-1999), the Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative (LPCRI) is a joint effort of Lincoln Park community organizations, DePaul Office of Community Government Relations, and DePaul University Special Collections and Archives. LPCRI creates and supports research, publications, and events on Lincoln Park. Educational programs celebrate and examine the diverse cultural and political issues of the community, which fosters continued interest in the shared history of the community and the university.

The Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, newspaper clippings and materials documenting various events organized by LPCRI. Audiovisual materials and oral history transcripts are also part of this collection.
