Founded in 1995, The Shakespeare Project of Chicago brings the works of William Shakespeare and other classic dramatists to life for free to Chicago area audiences. The Shakespeare Project of Chicago also showcases talents from the Actors’ Equity Association, the professional union of actors and stage managers. Additionally, the project supports education outreach programs related to Shakespeare studies for students in middle school, high school, and college.

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago Records contain documents related to performances staged from 2008 to 2014. Materials include: correspondence, curtain speeches, director’s scripts, newsletters, programs, promotional materials, and rehearsal schedules.
