The series is incomplete and contains a mix of both bound and unbound copies of the Cardinal/NC Review, often with overlapping dates. The container list (available upon request) includes dates for each unbound issue, although issues are not individually foldered.

The Cardinal/NC Review is a collection of original works written by North Central College students and faculty. The Cardinal/NC Review contains poems, drawings, photographs, and short stories, and the front cover of the magazine is usually original artwork. The length and size of the publication has varied over the years as has its publication schedule. Originally an annual publication and from 1960-1970 a biennial publication, The Cardinal/NC Review is currently published fall, winter, and spring terms. The collection includes scattered issues from the 1970s and 1980s which may indicate an irregular publication schedule. Additionally, The Cardinal/NC Review was not published during the 2000-2001 school year.
