In 1876, the Board of Trustees discontinued the Boarding Department of the College due to financial problems and lack of space for college organizations. Students were housed in private homes throughout Naperville and were encouraged to organize Boarding Clubs to lessen costs. These clubs, formed by students, appointed officers, bought provisions, hired cooks, and regulated member fees.

This series contains records of the College Boarding Club and the Southeastern Club, two boarding clubs of North Central students. These records include the organizations' constitutions, member lists, meeting minutes, ledgers of costs, and news clippings. Some issues discussed in meeting minutes include time of meals, cost of meals, and duties of the officers.
