The full run of Alumni News/North Central Now/North Central Magazine has been digitized and indexed, and is available at http://edu.arcasearch.com/us/nc. The College Archives contains two forms of the publications: bound and unbound. Bound copies range in years from 1923 to 1983, but are often incomplete, and unbound copies range from 1923 to the present. The bound copies often overlap in years that each volume covers. Because of the wide variety in styles through the years, the size of these publications varies greatly with 1923 to 1931 being the largest. Unbound copies are housed chronologically in folders and boxes, but bound copies are maintained openly on shelves.

First published as the Alumni Chronicle in 1923, North Central Magazine is an alumni magazine published quarterly by the Office of Marketing and Communication.

The base collection of the College Archives had no inherent order. The Archives created this series out of the base collection in 1999. New issues are added to the collection by the Archives staff as they are produced.

The College's alumni publications have had a variety of formats and have covered alumni news in varying degrees. The first alumni publication, Alumni Chronicle, a monthly newspaper launched in 1923, focused on campus events, with only limited information on alumni. The second alumni publication, Alumni News, was launched in 1926 as a quarterly newspaper and included additional personal news on alumni. In 1931, Alumni News was transformed into a magazine, including feature length articles in addition to the alumni news, and continued in this format until 1969. No alumni publication was produced in 1970. A third alumni publication, a newsletter titled North Central Now, was introduced in 1971. All personal alumni news was included in a new "Class Notes" section, a practice that continues to the present. North Central Now became a magazine in 1981 and in 1991, began including the Annual Report.
