  • AbstractThe National Organization for Women (N.O.W.) was established on June 30, 1966 in Washington, D.C., by people attending the Third National Conference of the Commission on the Status of Women. Aleta Styers was president of the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women founded in 1966 in Washington, D.C. The material in this collection relates to the formation and early history of the Chicago chapter of N.O.W. as well as the Illinois branch of the organization between 1966 and 1972.
