Geraldine Alvarez (University of Chicago, Ph.B. '34) was the wife of Luis Alvarez, a University of Chicago alumnus and winner of the 1968 Nobel Prize in Physics. In 1995, she was awarded an Alumni Service Citation by the university for her participation in various charitable organisations, including: the Alumni Cabinet, the Alumni Schools Committee, the University of Chicago Club of Metropolitan Chicago, the Women's Board, the Oriental Institute, and the Children's Research Foundation.

This collection consists of a single series, Student Activities, and is composed of University of Chicago memorabilia and class reunion materials.
