  • AbstractThis collection includes playbills, programs, and other music and theatre ephemera. Most is from the Chicago area, but other United States and International theatres are included. The bulk of the collection includes items from the mid-twentieth century.

Series I includes Chicagoland programs arranged alphabetically by venue and city (or troupe if no venue name is available). Series II includes programs from the United States (outside of Chicago). Series III includes international locations Series II and III are arranged alphabetically by state or country, then alphabetically by venue (or troupe if no venue name is available, or work name if no troupe or venue name is available). Series IV includes programs with no known location are arranged alphabetically by event title. Series V includes Chicago music and theatre ephemera, including scrapbooks, dance cards, theatre books, and magazines and are arranged by acquisition. Series I, II, III, and IV includes mostly playbills and programs, but also some tickets, fliers, and financial statements. Series V includes news clippings, playbills, and programs that were compiled as scrapbooks, as well as dance cards and other ephemera.
