Dorothy North was an active supporter of the Woman's Peace Party and other progressive causes affiliated with Jane Addams and Hull-House. North also supported Maurice Brown's "Trojan Women" in the hopes that their nationwide production of Euripides' ancient anti-war drama would help keep American out of World War I.
The Dorothy North Papers include correspondence, clippings, notes with some material regarding the Chicago Little Theatre, and a resolution and report of the Woman's Peace Party.
The Chicago Historical Society donated these papers to the University of Illinois at Chicago in June 1966. These items were removed from a scrapbook originally donated by Mrs. Sidney Haskins to the Chicago Historical Society in that same year.
