Vaughn Millbourn papers include samples of his work - linoleum carvings and metal etchings of plants and Christmas cards along with prints, some signed, letterheads and advertising materials with Millbourn's layouts. The collection also includes lecture notes and display materials from his classes, personal and business correspondence and some of Millbourn's art supplies.

M. Vaughn Millbourn, was a Chicago-based graphic designer and a member of the 27 Chicago Designers. He owned a Chicago Loop-based design firm, illustrated for Encyclopedia Britannica and taught at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. His artistic interests included typography, linoleum printing, zinc plates and plant life. Millbourn taught classes in lettering, advertising, printing and reproducing from the mid 1920's to the mid 1980's. His firm created letterheads, Christmas cards and designed promotional materials for other companies.

M. Vaughn Millbourn was born on September 8th, 1893, in Charlotte, Michigan and died at the age of 95, on October 23, 1987. He came to Chicago in 1913 to study at the School of the Art Institute, and after graduation in 1918, joined the army but was never deployed.

The M.
