  • Description View of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Fountain and bronze water buffalo sculpture mounted on a concrete plinth at the Brookfield Zoo. The fountain was dedicated on May 14, 1954, and features 60 foot water streams. The renowned sculptor, Sylvia Shaw Judson Haskins, created four bronze sculptures; the elk, moose, kudu, and water buffalo represent stages of Roosevelt's life and celebrate his achievements as statesman, naturalist, hunter, and soldier.
