  • Collection summary Group portrait of women and girls sewing, with some using sewing machines, others cutting fabric and fitting dress forms, during the Women's Achievement Exposition. Dresses are hanging on walls behind the group. The exposition was held in the Coliseum, located at 1513 South Wabash Avenue in the Near South Side community area of Chicago, Illinois. The girls are students at Wendell Phillips High School, located at the northeast corner of East 39th Street and South Prairie Avenue in the Douglas community area of Chicago.
