  • Collection summary Exterior view of the residence of George M. Pullman at 1729 South Prairie Avenue in the Near South Side community area of Chicago, Illinois. Robert Campion's cab, in which James Kane was murdered, was found near the residence. The murder was known as the Cab hold-up affair. James Kane was believed to be a thief and was allegedly shot and killed by police officer Edward T. Murphy on March 26, 1908.
