  • Collection summary Image of a crowd, including Boy Scouts, standing around the George Washington Monument, on East 51st Street and South King Drive (formerly Grand) in the Fuller Park community area of Chicago, Illinois. Two men are standing on a ladder at the front of the monument, perhaps installing a commemorative wreath in honor of Washington's birthday. The monument was completed in 1904, designed by Daniel Chester French and Edward C. Potter. This is a copy; the original is in Paris.
