  • Collection summary Portrait of golfer Johnny Goodman standing just off the green during the U.S. Open National Tournament at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois, on June 8, 9, or 10, 1933. A crowd of spectators is encircling the green. Text on the image reads: Gallery shot as Goodman sun last putt for record 66(?). Goodman shot a 66 in his second round of competition, tying Gene Sarazan's U.S. Open single-round record which had been set the previous year. Goodman won by a single stroke, making him the fifth and most recent amateur to win the U.S. Open.
