  • Collection summary Image of six baseball players, of the National League's Chicago Cubs, holding baseball bats, standing near home plate looking toward the field at Comiskey Park where smoke is billowing from the ground. This image was taken during a 1912 City Series between the Cubs and the American League's Chicago White Sox. Two Cubs players are standing at home plate, and Cubs and White Sox players are standing on the field farther in the background. Comiskey Park was located at 324 West 35th Street and bounded by West 34th Street, South Shield's Avenue (formerly Portland Avenue), and South Wentworth Avenue in the Armour Square community area.
