- Sleeve Caption Englewood neighborhood murders. Englewood During much of the 1990s, a string of murders of women ' mostly prostitutes and drug addicts ' plagued the South Side neighborhood of Englewood. At least 13 victims were lured to their deaths in abandoned buildings." This year, photographer Todd Panagopoulos revisited each murder scene. He found some buildings under renovation, others gone and a few still boarded up and abandoned. Daily activity has resumed and memories are perhaps the only remaining evidence of the crimes.
