• Title 1558 North Hoyne Street
  • Description Queen Anne-style house on the west side of North Hoyne Avenue, just south of North Avenue. The house was originally built for C. Hermann Plautz, founder of the Chicago Drug and Chemical Company. The decorative trim on the towers, cornices, and the conservatory on the house's south side is made from pressed metal. The cannon in the corner of the front yard has remained since the period when the building housed the American Legion (1927-1972).
