  • Collection summary Documents activities of Swift's Home Economics Division and team of home economists known under the trade name of Martha Logan. Includes Martha Logan advertisements (1933-1970), scenes of product testing and development in Chicago research kitchens, cooking classes, demonstrations and exhibits in various U.S. cities. Also includes publicity photographs of food products and table settings. Martha Logan representatives are shown in portraits and group portraits, posing with Swift products, preparing food for camera, and participating in broadcasting events. Albums include portraits and a sample of the above activities in Chicago and other key cities, notably Kansas City, Los Angeles, Omaha, St. Paul and Toronto. Negatives show the Martha Logan advertising images used at various times; these have matching prints. Transparencies with scenes in Swift's research kitchens have matching or similar printed images.
