Early papers include correspondence with family members in Germany (in German), carbon copies of outgoing business letters (1 v., 1888-1889, in German and in English), and correspondence and legal documents about Braun's purchase, construction, and management of various commercial buildings in Chicago and New York. Also present are J.G. Braun Co. correspondence, price lists, inventories, and sales figures (in a loose-leaf binder, 1928-1930, compiled by H. J. Braun) and papers distributed to shareholders (1937-1953); business correspondence of the Braun Music Company, based in New York (late 1930s-early 1940s) including two audio discs; and correspondence, receipts, and photographs concerning a family trip to Europe in 1961.
