  • Collection summary Job files (ca. 200) for buildings and alterations by John Lloyd Wright, an architect based in Chicago (Ill.) for part of his career. Designs were for various clients, many in the Chicago area but also in other locations throughout the country. Files for a building often contain drawings, blueprints, elevations, other plans, etc. Photographic materials include color photographic prints, slides, glass slides, etc. Collection includes some specifications, a scrapbook (photocopies), and a small amount of correspondence with colleagues.

  • Biographical or Historical Note John Lloyd Wright was born John Kenneth Wright: b. 12/12/1892; d. 1972. In addition to his distinguished career as an architect, he is remembered as the inventor of the toy known as Lincoln Logs, ca. 1916-1918. He was the son of Frank Lloyd Wright.
