Collection includes individual membership certificates from the 1850s; a transcript of the inquiry into the cause of the Great Chicago fire of 1871 and the actions of the fire department, with testimony of 49 witnesses (4 v.: approx. 1,170 p.); various ledgers, including meeting minutes; and a payroll for the month ending Oct. 31, 1871 (10 p.; 40 x 20 1/2 cm.).
