    • Diaries (17 vols., 1849-1853, 1885-1900) and account books (1847-1855, 1877, 1880-1884) of Wadsworth. The diaries briefly note associates encountered, use of local transportation, particularly the Illinois Central Railroad, real estate transactions, church activities, and the founding of the first Presbyterian Church in Woodlawn Park (founded 1885), which eventually merged with the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago. In the 1849-1851 and 1871 volumes of his diaries, Wadsworth covers the cholera epidemic and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 in significant notation. The 1877-1878 account book details his work with horsebreeding and pasturing horses including those of Cyrus Hall McCormick, as well as trading with local farmers.
    • James Wadsworth (d. 1900) was a partner in the Chicago (Ill.) real estate firm of Hodges, Gould & Wadsworth. He was a longtime resident of in Woodlawn Park (Ill.), which became the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago when it was annexed to the city.
