  • Collection summary Black-and-white photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives and color photographic prints and transparencies depicting the activities of E.R.A. Central (1972-1976), an organization devoted to winning ratification of the U.S. Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in Illinois. Includes images of Governor Walker signing a 1974 proclamation designating an E.R.A. Day and Week in Illinois, rallies in support of ratification at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield (Ill.) including the April 9, 1975 and May 16, 1976 rallies, as well as E.R.A. Central activities, including meetings and a party. Also includes a black-and-white portrait of Marlo Thomas, who supported the E.R.A. and took part in a fundraising event. Images of the rally were taken by Judy Nelson, negatives taken by Cathy Chick, Linda Markese, Nancey Meyerson, Judy Nelson and Linda Schulze.
