  • Biographical or Historical Note Jose Santana learned the craft of cigar making in Puerto Rico at the age of 12. He opened his own shop in Chicago in 1930, located in the basement of his home at 4831 West Roscoe Street in Chicago (Ill.); the shop operated until his death in 1980.
