  • Collection summary Photographs documenting the construction of over twenty bridges along various branches of the Chicago river. Street-level and elevated views show the bridges in different stages of construction. Also includes images of commercial and industrial buildings in the area of Illinois Street and Cass Street (now Wabash Avenue), ca. 1915, and a State Street Celebration attended by Mayor Richard J. Daley. Color photographs show a street and sidewalk replacement project conducted in the Englewood and Humboldt Park neighborhoods.
