  • Collection summary Loose photographs and album of snapshots by Chicago resident Rodde, a professional lithographer and amateur photographer. Loose photographs include snapshots of Chicago buildings and parks, the Eucharistic Congress (1926 : Mundelein and Chicago, Ill.), the Rodde home and family, a few family portraits on silk, and some "trick" photography depicting illusions such as severed heads and objects of disproportionate sizes in a single image. Album photographs generally depict automobile trips to national parks in the Western United States, Michigan and Wisconsin. Images show various cars, motor courts, mountainous landscapes, and leisure activities of the participants. Also includes family groups, informal wedding pictures, and zoo animals.
