  • Collection summary Aerial views of the aftermath of the roof collapse at the Rosemont Horizon arena while under construction at Mannheim Road and Lunt Avenue in Rosemont (Ill.). Five construction workers were killed in the collapse, which occurred after heavy rains. The building is designed as an indoor stadium for sports, conventions, and other events with a large, open floor space and much sound-proofing to suppress noise from nearby O'Hare International Airport. The primary contractor is Concrete, Steel, Timber and Construction Company of Schiller Park; the architect is Anthony Rossi and Associates of Addison.
