  • Collection summary Job files (ca. 80) of architectural drawings, etc. for buildings designed by Boyd Hill, nearly all are related to private residences constructed between 1936 and 1963 (primarily in the 1950s) for various clients, mostly in Lake Forest or other northern suburbs of Chicago (Illinois). Also present are photographs for the New Lawrence Hotel (12 items in booklet) and other photographs for the Aragon Ballroom and unidentified buildings. A separate box of photographs and photostats of renderings, floor plans, and views of completed buildings (accession 2004.0144) includes some of Hill's major Chicago projects, such as the Aragon Ballroom, 1540 North Lake Shore Drive Building; 210 East Pearson Building; and the New Lawrence Hotel, as well as private residences, many in the northern suburbs. The New Lawrence Hotel has been known also as the Lawrence House. It is a large, art deco building at the northeast corner of Kenmore and Lawrence in Chicago.
