    • Images, mostly made Sept. 2000- March 2001 (but some date as early as 1965), by these photographers: Lucille J. Adams, Antoinette Beckman, Robert D. Essak, Eugenia Fawcett, Alan Havlicek, Jane H. Kriete, Russell Kriete, Betty Kubis, Earl L. Kubis, Lynne Lee, John McCarthy, Paul L. Meyers, Mary Milner, Mary Vassalo. Includes views of events, structures, streets, and people in Chicago neighborhoods, such as Pilsen, Chinatown, Pullman District, Hyde Park, Kenwood, and the Loop, and in these towns and suburbs: Aurora, Brookfield, Burr Ridge, Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville, Niles, Oak Brook, Oak Lawn, Oak Park, Romeoville, Schaumburg, Villa Park, Willowbrook, and Woodridge.
    • Prominent buildings and landmarks shown include Shedd Aquarium, Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Meigs Field, Promontory Point, Planetarium, Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Logan Monument, Marina Towers, Wrigley Field, Merchandise Mart, Wrigley Building, Chicago Cultural Center, Buckingham Fountain, Water Tower, Allerton Hotel, Union Station, Daley Plaza, new Hyatt Hotel, Sears Tower and Prarie Avenue. There are views of harbors, including Calumet harbor, Burnham harbor, and Belmont harbor, as well as views of the Chicago River and the Chicago River Locks. Other subjects include winter scenes, Christmas scenes, skating scenes (at Skate on State and at Navy Pier), construction, Old Town Art Fair, Ginza Fair, Bud Billiken Parade, Chicago Marathon and Air and Water Show.

  • Acquisition information These slides and many accompanying photoprints were the gift of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) and gift of the individual photographers as part of the Chicagoland-in-Pictures project, an annual competition sponsored by Chicago Historical Society and CACCA since 1948. These images were accepted into the collection during the 2000-2001 competition (2001.0269).
