Present at the dedication ceremony were the descendants of four Catrambone brothers and one cousin, Italian immigrants who settled in the Near West Side neighborhood in 1912; Illinois Attorney General James Ryan; 25th Ward Alderman Daniel Solis; and numerous friends and neighbors. Speeches by the Catrambone family, which has largely remained in the Near West Side neighborhood, explain their family history and relationship to the development of the community.
