    • Architectural drawings and blueprints, correspondence, certificates, and other papers concerning Reed's career as an architect, preservationist, and officer of HABS. Includes job files (ca. 30) of drawings and blueprints, mostly for renovations, ca. 1920-1960; plans for 98 structures made for the Historic American Buildings Survey under Reed's supervision for buildings erected ca. 1716-1915; a few watercolors; office files on his commissions, including sketches, blueprints, photographs, specifications, and correspondence; office files on his historic preservation activities, service as president of AIA (1933-1937); copies of publications written by him or used by him; materials about his teaching at Armour Institute of Technology (1924-1936) and elsewhere; city planning; Abraham Lincoln; Reed family and Collins family and friends; and records of personal property, income taxes, and the estate of his father. Includes photographs of the Evanston municipal government building, ca. 1950's; historic buildings in Galena (Ill.), and Dixon State Hospital.
