  • Collection summary Includes the archive of Mishkin Photo Service, a photography firm with offices at 64 West Randolph in Chicago (Ill.), operated by Howard Mishkin from 1935-1943. Primarily consists of images of members of trade unions in the Chicago area and activities of some community organizations such as the American Jewish Congress. Some images show the International Harvester Strike of 1941. During World War II, Mishkin served in the army and afterward traveled to Japan, and the collection includes views of Japanese farmers and farms and theatrical presentations. Also includes images of children playing in parks in Chicago, taken during his childhood in the 1920s and 1930s. Photographed by Harold Mishkin.
