  • Collection summary Newsclippings, photographs, certificates, cartoons, correspondence, etc. from disbound scrapbooks relating to Leon Hornstein's activities as a lawyer. Hornstein was born in West Bend (Wis.) and moved to Chicago in 1872. He had a printing firm with his brother called Hornstein Brothers between 1883 and 1895. He was admitted to the bar in 1897. He practiced general law from 1901-1904 with Emil Coith and from 1907-1910 with Harry M. Fisher. He was appointed an assistant corporation counsel for the city of Chicago in 1905 and worked in that position until 1907. He was reappointed in 1911 and continued to serve the city in that capacity until his death in 1934. The collection mostly deals with news of Hornstein's achievements as a lawyer, but also contains some information regarding his brother Albert Hornstein.
