  • Collection summary Minutes of meetings of the directors, board of governors, and members, 1923-1986; officers and membership lists, 1943-1965; communications to members, invitations, 1941-1954; a few menus and other items; lease between The Attic and Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, May 1, 1934-1944 which includes blueprint plans for the 43rd and 44th floors of the Field Building, 135 South LaSalle Street, designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst, and White. The minutes are stored in eight folders and six leather-bound volumes. A ninth folder contains the lease and blueprints. Minutes concern mostly of the election and acceptance of new members. This collection also includes notices to members about changes in bylaws and increases in dues from the 1940s, Christmas menus from the 1940s and 1950s and a 25th anniversary invitation.
  • Biographical or Historical Note The Attic, a businessman's luncheon club, was formed February 23, 1923, and originally located at 120 West Adams. Beginning in 1934, The Attic was located on the 43rd and 44th floors of the Field Building at 135 South LaSalle Street in Chicago. Not to be confused with an earlier organization known as the Attic Club.
