    • Images, mostly made Sept. 1987- March 1988 (but some date as early as 1970), by these photographers: Hanns Gutenstein, Jeanne Halama, Margurite Hartman, Sam Krizan, Curtis Larsen, Tom Laydon, Helen Lynch, Frank E. Mather, Stephan McCoy, Jean Meier, Allen Perry, Ronald Perry, Casey Prunchunas, Norris Romeo, Janet Schletter, Don Seegraves, Jane Sparhawk, Carolyn Sparling, Gregory Stachowicz, Peggy Stevens Charles Stinson, Joyce Trier, and Sam Weigle. Photographs were taken in Chicago and in the following suburbs and Illinois towns: Aurora, Batavia, Berwyn, Blue Island, Bolingbrook, Brookfield, Chicago Heights, Chicago Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Country Club Hills, Crestwood, Downers Grove, Dundee, Elwood, Evanston, Evergreen Park, Forest Park, Geneva, Glencoe, Glen Ellyn, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hinsdale, Joliet, La Grange, Lake Forest, Lemont, Libertyville, Lisle, Lockport, Lombard, Lyons, Matteson, Mundelein, Naperville, Oakbrook, Oak Lawn, Palos Park, Palos Hills, Richton Park, River Forest, Riverside, St. Charles, Schaumburg, Sycamore, Warrenville, Wauconda, Waukegan, Wayne, Western Springs, Westmont, Wheaton, Willow Springs, Wilmette, and Worth.
    • Includes views of the following events and activities: Taste of Chicago (1987), Chicago River tour boats; launching and loading boats at a boatyard; launching of Goodyear blimp at Midway Airport. Also includes views of the following churches: Notre Dame; First Unitarian Church; Disciples of Divinity; McCormick Theological Seminary; St. Mary's Tower chapel St. Bede; St. Phillipa; St. Maurice; and Greenstone United Methodist Church. The collection includes photographs of the following buildings and landmarks: University of Chicago campus; Marina Towers; Hotel Nikko; Wrigley Field; Chicago Daily News Building; Sun-Times Building; Criminal Courts building; AT&T Building (227 West Monroe); Quaker Oats Building; and Jackson Park Yacht Club.

  • Acquisition information These slides and many accompanying photoprints were the gift of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) and gift of the individual photographers as part of the Chicagoland-in-Pictures project, an annual competition sponsored by Chicago Historical Society and CACCA since 1948. These images were accepted into the collection during the 1987-1988 competition (1988.0669).
