  • Collection summary Primarily portraits of an unidentified man who served in the Army's Chicago regiment and later, played for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Includes portraits in military uniform, at 7th Regiment's Camp Lincoln (Springfield, Ill.) and as part of the 2nd Regiment band. Also includes portraits in a Chicago Cubs uniform, with team members at outings and other events, and with a woman (possibly Miss B. Crosby). Later photographs show him in a supervisory position, such as medic or coach. The album ends with a picture of a grave. A photocopy of a team photo found in the Prints and Photographs subject files has been placed in the box and identifies the man as A. Bert Semmens, Trainer.
