P.H. Sheridan; called First Regiment Chicago Volunteers, under command of Col. Francis T. Sherman. Also includes farewell message by Francis T. Sherman, Oct. 24, 1871, to the 1st Regiment of Chicago Fire Guards, issued when the volunteer regiment was dismissed after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
