  • Collection summary Primarily includes views of buildings and sculpture and portraits of Bach from his own collection. Most images show views of Chicago (Ill.), including the River City apartment complex, the Hyde Park YMCA, the O'Hare Airport Rapid Transit externsions and terminal, a convention hall proposed for the lake front, meetings at the Chicago Plan Commission, sailboats, and portraits of Bach. Color photorpints show a metal sculpture by Virginia Ferrari, the McCormick Place expansion facility, and the O'Hare Rapid Transit extension. Negatives show an exhibit regarding the Historic American Building Survey at City Hall, some tombs, and portraits of Bach. Also includes a presentation album submitted by Mies van der Rohe to the Committee on Architects Selection for the proposed Chicago Civic Center (1960).
