Cased images may be handled only by conservation staff of Chicago History Museum.

  • Collection summary Includes portraits of members of the Carr-Heron-Morse family who settled in Chicago in the 1850s and other relatives. Includes photos of Dr. Jonathan Carr and his brother Camilo C.C. Carr, a brigadier general in the U.S. Army, who served in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War and was stationed in Kansas. Many photos depict events related to his military career. Also includes formal family portraits as well as snapshots of other family members, including Phoebe Morse, a Chicago school teacher until her retirement in the 1930s.
