  • Collection summary Primarily includes views taken in 1952 of buildings and property lots in the central business district, called the Loop area, in Chicago (Ill.). Buildings and lots have been photographed sequentially as one moves around the block. Some streets include Adams Street, Clark Street, Dearborn Street, Franklin Street, Jackson Street, Harrison Street, Madison Street, Michigan Avenue, Monroe Street, Randolph Street, State Street, Wabash Avenue, Wacker Drive, and Washington Street. Includes a few photographs of William Marshall Ellis and portraits of unidentified businessmen. One view shows the Chicago Committee of One Hundred Good American Awards banquet, held at McCormick Place (Chicago, Ill.) in 1962. Guests include men, women; some are African Americans. Possibly photographed for a real estate management company.
