  • Collection summary Personal albums containing portraits of the friends and relatives of W.M. Durham, a banker in Momence, Ill. (1880-1896) and his wife Bertha. Tintypes in Durham's album include individual and group portraits of people from Kankakee and Momence. Typed identification labels were glued in at a later date. A carte de visite portrait of Durham is affixed inside the front cover. Bertha's album contains portraits of school friends from Evanston and Pennsylvania, friends and relations from Kankakee and Momence, and a Momence flour mill operated by a family member in the 1850s. Most photographs are identified.
