  • Collection arrangement The scrapbooks remain bound in their original order. The index is alphabetical by production title.
  • Biographical or Historical Note The scrapbooks were originally known as the Cassidy Theatre Scrapbooks; in the absence of internal evidence connecting them to the well-known Chicago critic, they were renamed in 1986 to identify them with their compiler, Caroline Linsley, a North-Sider who lived at 4421 Sheridan Road in 1912, and at 549 Wellington in the early 1940s.
  • Collection summary Collection includes programs, clippings, and pictures pasted into photograph albums and blank scrapbooks compiled by Caroline Linsley. Movie programs have been included, as well as programs for productions Linsley attended while on vacation in New York and elsewhere.
  • Access and usage restrictions Available for research in the Special Collections and Preservation Division Reading Room of the Chicago Public Library.
