The Granada Theater, located at 6427 N. Sheridan Road in Chicago, Illinois, was designed by Edward E. Eichenbaum for Levy and Klein Architects. The building opened in 1926 and continued to operate as a movie theater into the mid-1970s. The theater was demolished in 1989. Daniel D. Watts was active in the " Save Granada Theater Committee," founded in the mid-1980s when the theater was threatened with demolition.

The photographs were taken circa 1987, to be used both as documentary resources and as publicity to attract support for the theater's renovation. Unless otherwise stamped, the photographs were taken by Daniel D. Watts and printed by Michael F. Williams. The collection also includes a small group of architectural working drawings for the theater, store and loft building. The drawings are not the final " as built" set.

Photographs are collected in Series I. Series II contains the architectural drawings, listed in order of sheet number, as indicated in parentheses.
