Old Town Triangle Association records

The Old Town Triangle Association was established in 1948 as a community-based, not-for-profit organization devoted to residents who lived in the area of the City of Chicago bounded by North Avenue, Clark Street, and Ogden Avenue. This area is referred to as the "Triangle." The Triangle became a Chicago landmark area in 1977 and a nationally registered landmark area in 1984.

The Old Town Triangle Association records consist of governing and financial documentation, meeting minutes, correspondence, memoranda, reports, newsletters, pamphlets and newspaper clippings related to or issued by the Old Town Triangle Association. The collection also includes files documenting the process of becoming a nationally registered historic district.

This collection is organized into eight series: 1. Publications; 2. Administration; 3. Financial; 4. Committee Files; 5. Old Town Art Fair; 6. Urban Renewal; 7. Memorabilia; 8. Oversized Materials. Series 2, Administration, is further divided into subseries: 2.1. General Administrative; 2.2. Board of Directors. The majority of the materials in this collection are arranged chronologically, or by topic and then chronologically.
