One set of the Spectrum is located in boxes in the Archives, another set is on shelves in the Archives reference room, and a third set is located in Oesterle Library reference room. The container list (available upon request) is for the boxed volumes in the Archives only. All available volumes of the Spectrum have been digitized, and are available on line through North Central College Archives' website.

The Spectrum was published annually from 1910 through 1998 with the exception of the years 1969, 1971-1972, and 1974-1976. The Spectrum has not been published since 1998.

The Spectrum was North Central College's yearbook, containing photographs of students, faculty, campus events, clubs, and sports. Early Spectrums contain detailed descriptions of campus buildings, faculty members, seniors, class histories, clubs, and sports teams. The Spectrums are bound in a hard cover with one exception. The 1975 issue titled "Card Catalog" is much smaller, bound in a paper cover and only contains campus building, faculty, sports, and random student pictures.
