  • Collection summary View of pedestrian bridge over the tracks at the Clark Street elevated train station, viewed at an angle level to the tracks and including nearby buildings and automobile traffic on the street below. The Clark Street Station was located at the intersection of Clark and Lake Streets in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. The image was taken previous to the consolidation of the Northwestern Elevated lines with the South Side Elevated lines which occurred on November 3, 1913. The pedestrian bridge facilitated the free transfer of passengers between lines at the same stop which had been previously unavailable.
