  • Collection summary Bound volumes of verses and songs and ledgers from the Germania Club, which was founded in 1865 and known as the Germania Männerchor. The club was initially very interested in musical traditions, and the collection consists of multiple volumes filled with verses, songs, and programs for musical events in German, ca. 1880s-1890s. Also present are three ledgers detailing the accounts of the club, 1939-1941 and 1948. In 1889 the club constructed a large building at the corner of Clark Street and Germania Place in Chicago (Ill.), and in 1902 it changed its name to the Germania Club.
