Most bookplates are from England or the United States, but a few are from Canada and Europe. Includes some bookplates of notable people, e.g., Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lillian Gish, John Pierpont Morgan and Jack London. Bookplates bearing corporate names generally represent American clubs, societies, libraries, and religious groups, ca. 1890-1930. Specialty bookplates include a few gilt and leather designs, a series of plates belonging to collectors of Lincolniana, and a few designed by Chicago artist Ralph Fletcher Seymour.
